After years of gear testing it s rare that we get excited about new gear updates but after learning of therm a rest finally pulling the trigger on updating their valve system we got pretty excited. Despite the previously dated and frustrating valve system the therm a rest neoair xtherm was still our editors choice winner year after year. We especially liked this pad for adventures where you spend multiple nights in the same location. The new therm a rest neoair uberlite is an outstanding ultralight backpacking air mattress.

The thermarest luxury was also very comfortable but this one is the true luxurious campers sleeping mat. Not only does it contain the worlds smallest hair dryer there was apparently some humor in the little battery operated inflation device but it kept him warm when other kids indicated they were cold. Yes it s that good. Like its sister sleeping pad the neoair xlite the neoair xtherm ditches the mainstream rectangular build for a contoured build. Bottom line on this mattress is that it is a great item for cold weather and if the snow ever melts will be wonderful for milder weather camping.
